The film opens with the two strangers, both newly graduated from the University of Chicago, share a car trip from Chicago to New York, where they are both going to make their way. During the trip, they discuss aspects of their characters and their lives, eventually deciding it is impossible for men and women to be "just friends." They arrive in New York and go their separate ways. They meet a few years later on an airplane and Harry reveals he is married. They meet again at a bookstore a few years after that where Harry reveals he is now divorced. From that point on, the two form a friendship. Eventually their closeness results in their respective best friends (played by Carrie Fisher and Bruno Kirby) meeting and falling in love with each other. At a New Year's Eve party Harry and Sally confront the complex tangle of emotions they feel for each other. scores=183008 vote. 1989. country=USA.

This is a gem. Happy New Year, Lovers! ♥️. The Sinatra song made this scene. If it's romantic and funny, it's a good romantic comedy, plain and simple. On that level, Rob Reiner's "When Harry Met Sally…" is a 10/10 but there wouldn't be much to say and the praise would be more disrespectful than the critic, because obviously, the film tries (and succeeds) to be more than a 'rom-com' it's a very interesting gender relationship study with an undeniable pedagogic value. I always lose it when she's laughing at his joke and it turns into an awkward sob 😂. Her name is KIMBERLEY. Honestly, before I was in a relationship(3-4yrs ago) I had a lot of guy friends, and it actually got me into a lot of trouble. I always found guys sometimes easier to talk to than girls, because growing up I felt girls could really get nasty and cliquey. Well, with guy friends: There was a lot of confusion and misunderstanding, and in the end, I ended up losing them as what I thought were my 'friends. One guy, work colleague, walked away so broken hearted, he ended up leaving the job and mind you, he never spoke to me again, and his parents hate me because they thought I was leading him on. At the time, he was under the impression that our friendship was something more. I felt awful over the whole situation, and now I try to be very careful when having any association with anybody other than my bf of the opposite sex. Even though I know that guy has moved on now and is passed that whole thing, im still reminded sometimes of how badly I hurt not just him, but a lot of other people and it makes me feel very sad and guarded now. I try to explain to other people to approach friendships with the opposite sex with caution, but some people tell me to not worry and blah blah blah, but they don't always realize how easily messages and signals can get mixed.

Two reasons why I tend to avoid romantic comedies are liar revealed and misunderstanding cliches. Every goddamn time otherwise enjoyable movie drops freaking dead for 10-20 min and it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. When this two terrible tropes just die. Oww thanks for this video ❤. I'm with sally, i like my sauces and dips and stuff on the side. She was HOTT. And this probably is "When Harry Met Sally…" unfortunate dilemma, it succeeds so much on the wit and romance department, that it sometimes undermines the realism of the 'social commentary' aspect. Yes, romantic comedies are not the most likely to depict reality with a documentary-like quality, but the Oscar-nominated script of Norah Ephron proves that sometimes, even intelligence can be incompatible with realism. When you have to conclude by a "… but then, there would have been no film" you know something didn't work.

Ha ha ha out of vanilla ice cream, how can you be out of vanilla ice cream, it's the equivalent of being out of grass or air. God, even the deleted scenes are gold. I'm closing my eyes now. ok that didn't work. unplug my earphone then. okey. that didn't work either. volume is too high. Big bang theory.
